From humble beginnings and a desire that took him away from the Financial sector, Marv got a kaleidoscope view of the tourism industry which steered up a deep rooted passion for arts and creativity. His journey to success began in the early 90’s at Club 601 as a Bar Back, Marv used the opportunity as a stepping stone which quickly propelled and in three-months he was promoted to Bartender. Marv knew the offerings were exceptional but with a mind of a chemist in a lab, he spends most of his spare time researching and concocting various cocktails that he adds to his Mixologist repertoire. Because his cocktails are stratospheric, he has been dubbed ‘Mr. Mix‘ (a nickname given by his teammates of the National Culinary Team). To hone his skills, he needed to be challenged and put to the test and so he began entering competitions. Diligence, determination and commitment are traits that allowed Marv to achieve the following accolades:

Within the past 20 years, perfecting the art of Mixology, Marv has distinguished himself amongst his peers. He has been employed at the Atlantis Resort as a Bartender in Aura Nightclub for the past twelve (12) years. In addition to the abovementioned accolades, ‘The Liquid Maestro’ aims to revitalize the beverage culture within the Commonwealth of The Bahamas. After competing in 2015 and becoming the first Bahamian Bartender to capture the crown in the Bartending category at the prestigious Taste of the Caribbean competition he is also the first bartender in the competition’s history to have successfully defended his title in 2016 winning the competition two years consecutively. In March 2017 Marv was asked to become the first Bahamian Judge of the Mixology component of The Taste Of The Caribbean Competition. Marv is also the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Associations Caribbean 305 Ambassador.
He wants to share his knowledge and experiences with those who have the same appreciation and zeal for Mixology. This field has allowed him to meet people from all over the world, inclusive of celebrities and athletes; He commits to remain humble and owes all of his success to God, his family and supporters.
