Philip Antoine known in the bartending fraternity as “Casanova,” is a flamboyant Bartender/ mixologist hailing from the Caribbean island of Barbados. Philip, who was born in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, relocated to Barbados at the age of 9 and is now as viewed as one of the top Bartenders/ mixologists on the island and in the Caribbean.
Interestingly, bartending was not his first choice for a career. He is actually certified in Interior Design and decorating. His introduction to the world of bartending came in 2006, while after frequenting what was then the island’s number one night club, he was given a job as a bartender.
Phillip has competed in several bartending competitions hosted by some of the biggest brands in the industry, he has appeared in several magazines and newspapers around the Caribbean as well as being featured in several commercials and TV shows. He is Barbados Bartender of the Year 2015, A member of The Award Winning Barbados Culinary Team, Gold Medal Award winning Taste of the Caribbean Bartender of the Year, he also held the title as the 2013/2014 champion of The Barbados Food & Wine and Rum Festival. His latest and major accomplishment is his capture of the Barbados leg of the Angostura Global Cocktail Challenge crown. This title made him the 2016 Angostura Ambassador for Barbados.
When not busy behind a bar he promotes and teaches fellow bartenders and aspiring youngsters about the joys and trials of the amazing art of bartending and mixology. Confident and unique, he stands out with his personality and “flair”, and is always happy to share a smile or say hello.
